Family camp 2013

Members of the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers were joined by their families for a Scouting fun day for all held at Youlbury, a Scout activity centre near Oxford.  A range of activities were on offer including crate stacking, team building, low ropes, geocaching, archery, climbing, open-fire cooking and crafts.  But the emphasis was firmly on fun for all the family.

The families gather around to hear about the afternoon's programme.

There's nothing like cooking over an open fire.

Dad gives a helping hand with the fire lighting.

Judging the tallest flag pole.

The BBQ was in the capable hands of John and Chris!

Thanks must go to all those who participated in the event and made the weekend the success that it was, the families and Group members who attended, the leaders who led, the helpers who lent a hand and in particular to David and Janet who did most to organise this family event.  It showed us the true spirit of Scouting.

Erecting a flag-pole is not as easy as you may think!

The leaders take it easy!

Time for the boys to relax in the craft tent!

The catapults were put to the test, but with mixed results!

Time for the kitchen brigade to relax!
