Duck Race
Thanks to all the support we received for the annual Duck Race, this event raised a magnificent £450+ for the Group's funds.  Well done to the organisers, the duck sellers and duck purchasers and to the barbecue kitchen brigade who fed the hungry spectators.  It was a cracking [or quacking!] event.

Group camp  + AGM 2015     Bromham

This year Scouts from both Sections enjoyed a long weekend at Cosgrove. Besides enjoying getting wet, activities included archery, indoor rifle shooting and a 10km hike. In addition, the scouts tried their hand at making pigeon stew and they apparently ate enough cake to fill the Scout Hall!

Cubs have a whale of a time at
Dino Snores!
An excited group of cubs enjoyed a sleepover at the Natural History Museum.
Among the activities laid on were a torch-lit trail through the Dinosaurs Gallery, a live science show, creating a dinosaurs t-shirt and after breakfast the next morning, a live animal show.

The 2013 AGM...
At a well attended meeting of parents, leaders and members of the Group, presentations were made, reports given and
officers appointed.  During the evening a Bench was presented to commemorate the service to the Group of a well respected leader, the late Ron Fagan.

Gilwell 2010

"The challenge for the Group has always been to provide better Scouting for more young people and during the past year the Group has continued to deliver this ideal to over 100 young people.  Our youth membership has once again grown for the sixth year running, increasing by almost 35% compared with our 2005 membership."

What we do...

As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life.

Young people in the Scouts take part in an exciting programme of activities from kayaking to climbing. They develop character skills like resilience, initiative and tenacity; employability skills such as leadership, teamwork and problem solving; and practical skills like cooking and first aid.

The 2017-18 Group annual report together with the accounts are to be found on the Annual Report page...

Congratulations to our retired Group Scout Leader...
Clive has been awarded the Silver acorn by the Scout Association in recognition  for his long term service to Scouting.  An award justly deserved.  Clive has now retired from the Group to live in Yorkshire.

Disability awareness evening

Scouts learnt about various sports which have been adapted for those affected by disability, including skiing.

Sign language and bingo for the deaf  were also experienced.

This year's Duck Race proved to be another winner!
A crowd of spectators gathered by the river to witness this annual event.

The 'pop-up' barbecue did a brisk trade to keep the spectators happy!

Thank you to all those who came and supported  our Easter Bingo event...
It was very much a 'full house' with plenty of eggscellent prizes to be won!  Here are a few pics of the evening...
